Position Overview:
As the Technology Risk and Compliance Lead at the Manager Level within the Africa Tech and Digital team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technology risk management and compliance strategies that align with the organization's overall objectives . Your leadership will ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes collaboration, integrity, and the empowerment of team members in driving sustainable risk and compliance practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership in Risk and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive technology risk and compliance framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Lead and manage the technology risk and compliance team, providing guidance and mentoring to foster a culture of empowerment, trust, and shared success.
2. Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify , analyze, and prioritize technology risks across the organization, ensuring alignment with the firm's commitment to quality and integrity.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks effectively, contributing to distinctive outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
3. Policy Development and Governance:
Create and maintain policies, procedures, and standards related to technology risk and compliance management, ensuring they align with internal and external requirements.
Monitor the implementation of governance processes that promote compliance with standards and regulations, enhancing trust and accountability.
4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with IT, security, and other departments to ensure coordination in managing technology risks and compliance issues.
Engage with senior management and stakeholders to report on risk and compliance status, including challenges faced and recommended actions, promoting a culture of transparency and inclusive behavior.
5. Auditing and Reporting:
Oversee internal audits related to technology risk and compliance, ensuring findings are addressed and corrective actions implemented effectively.
Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key risk areas, compliance levels, and recommendations for improvement.
6. Training and Awareness Programs:
Develop and deliver training and awareness programs for staff on technology risk management and compliance topics, fostering a culture of continuous learning and empowerment.
Ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to compliance and risk management, enhancing overall organizational knowledge.
7. Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to technology risk and compliance.
Identify opportunities for enhancing risk management processes, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation within the technology risk and compliance function.
8. Incident Management and Response:
Collaborate with incident management teams to ensure appropriate responses to technology risk incidents and compliance breaches.
Analyze incidents to identify root causes and develop preventive measures to reduce future occurrences, underscoring the firm’s commitment to integrity and quality outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills :
Education:
Bachelor degree in Information Technology , Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
A Master degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP, ITIL) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technology risk management, compliance, or related roles, preferably within a complex organizational environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of relevant compliance frameworks (ISQM1, ITIL, ISMS) and risk management methodologies.
Proficient in technology risk assessment tools and techniques, as well as compliance management software (e.g., ServiceNow).
Soft Skills:
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide team members and foster collaboration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes.
Effective communication skills for engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and promoting a culture of empathy and urgency.
