Job summary

SBV Services (Pty) Ltd. seeks a skilled technology product professional to drive the delivery and maintenance of SBV Products.

You will translate business needs and market insights into clear product features, work with agile teams, and coordinate releases with marketing, sales and delivery to ensure value delivery. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or software engineering or related field, plus experience in roadmap design and product delivery.

Analysis, Planning & Implementation of the Technology Strategy for Products

• Contribute to the SBV Product Strategy, and translate the strategy into prioritized services, capabilities and experiences through SBV Products that build long term value.
• Execute the product vision, product roadmap, and product strategy for SBV Products.
• Translate product’s strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development.
• Constantly analyse market and competition based on a synthesis of appropriate data, including but not limited to primary and secondary market research, customer feedback, sales and market data, product evaluations, services feedback and industry best standards.
• Proactively analyse and provide resolution to both strategic and tactical opportunities to improve Technology Product offerings to meet market demands for now as well as into the future.
• Provide input and support the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned to SBV Technology Strategy and business objectives.
• Translate business needs, customer insights, and market trends into clear product features, enhancements, and priorities.
• Balance customer demand, regulatory requirements, architectural constraints, and commercial viability in roadmap decisions.
• Continuously assess product performance and relevance, recommending enhancements, rationalization, or retirement where required.

Delivery of Technology Products

• Provide input the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept and business justification through delivery, adoption, and optimisation.
• Support release planning, go-to-market readiness, and post-implementation review.
• Support asset decisions are fully aligned to security, DR/BCP, and operational resilience requirements.
• Work closely with Product Owners, UX/design, vendor partners, and relevant stakeholders in an agile environment to translate the business vision into features and functionality.
• Foster collaboration with product designers, developers, quality assurance, and marketing to explore, prioritize, and launch solutions via methodologies such as Agile.
• Host Joint Application Development (JAD) and other brainstorming sessions with SBV stakeholders to support innovation of products and services
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of SBV products, including their features and functionality to identify new opportunities to support their growth.
• Provide technical expertise on product development to the Commercial team and other teams, providing consulting services for estimation of effort, dependencies and complexity of effort.
• Manage product delivery to ensure if conforms with sprint planning requirements and meets delivery timelines within specified quality of requirements
• Coordinate product releases with marketing, sales, and delivery teams.

Run and Maintenance of Technology Products

• Performs subject matter expert duties for supported products, including acting as a resource for answering questions, explaining functionality, and assisting others in building product knowledge.
• Provide product training and technical expertise to customers and business partners.
• Support service and product optimisation efforts.
• Assist relevant teams in the design of user awareness and training for Technology products and services.
• Manage product functions and services communications with business stakeholders and customers.
• Maintain deep understanding of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies relevant to SBV.
• Identify opportunities for digitisation, automation, and innovation within the product portfolio.
• Provide informed input into future product opportunities, pilots, and proofs of concept.
• Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand needs, pain points, and opportunities.
• Act as a trusted product and solution advisor to Sales, Delivery, Architecture, and Business teams.
• Support STRATCO and Client Executive communications relating to product updates and roadmap progress.
• Gather structured feedback from customers and stakeholders to inform continuous product improvement.
• Be the voice of customers and business partners by understanding and representing their needs and product requirements
• Collaborate with business partners to develop and drive a platform roadmap that supports product strategy and organisational objectives
• Partner with the Commercial team to conduct customer engagements via tools such as survey’s to better understand customer needs and feedback on services and products
• Collaborate closely with technology teams to communicate the product roadmap, provide market context, be the voice of the customer, and align the roadmap with SBV Technology's strategic goals.
• Liaise with customers and collect feedback on products and services to inform improvements to offerings
• Represent the Company and its mission professionally and appropriately internally, in public, with media, and at industry-related events.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial and Support teams to create go-to-market strategies that enhance awareness, drive success, and improve support for Technology Products and Services.
• Support Product Management Release Showcase initiatives by collaborating with the Commercial team to produce effective presentations to promote value-adding features to internal and external clients.
• Maintain product artefacts including roadmaps, value propositions, feature definitions, and performance metrics.
• Track and report on product adoption, usage, value delivery, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure alignment to architecture standards, governance processes, and risk controls.
• Support internal decision-making with clear, data-driven product insights.
• Work collaboratively across Product, Sales, Architecture, Delivery, Operations, and Finance.
• Support implementation teams to ensure solutions delivered align with product intent.
• Ensure smooth handover from product design into delivery and operations.
• Promote disciplined product management practices and continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance, Risk and Financial Management

• Understand and manage the cost efficiency and performance of products and solutions using financial metrics (AOV, ROI, CAGR, etc…), platform metrics (usage, analytics, etc) other quantitative measures, and qualitative feedback.
• Assess and address technical risks ensuring compliance to risk principles as well as regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate relevant testing targeting clean test cycles.
• Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
• Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
