Technology Architect

We are recruiting for a Technology Architect role.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma in Information Technology / BSc in Computer Science or related qualification.
• TOGAF certification will be advantageous.
• Relevant 5-7 years of work experience in infrastructure planning and provisioning environments.
• Cybersecurity experience will be an advantage.

Key Performance Areas

Technology Architecture

• Technology Architecture Planning.
• Facilitate the establishment of Architecture Standards and Policy.
• Develop EA standards, data architecture standards, EA governance frameworks, and system integration standards.
• Develop and maintain strategies and roadmaps for cloud infrastructure and applications used in the company, but not restricted to.

Microsoft Office 365

• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
• Base server hardware, OS & virtualization
• Backups
• Provide expert advice to project teams on integration technology, data architecture, modeling, system architecture, including best practices.
• Lead analysis of the current technology environment to detect deficiencies, legacy issues, and technical debt; recommend solutions.
• Analyze industry and market trends to assess their impact on enterprise technology architecture.
• Define high-level migration plans to bridge gaps between current and future states, aligned with IT budgeting and capital planning.
• Oversee standards adherence through reviews of project work, technical specifications, and application code.
• Manage internal and external resources and teams.
• Oversee development and support of batch and backend processes related to the application portfolio.
• Partner with other disciplines to ensure solutions align with IT infrastructure, business, and security architectures.
• Develop conceptual infrastructure, technology, and security architecture.
• Provide advisory services to the business on solution building blocks.

Manage Technology Architecture Portfolio

• Develop and maintain the infrastructure or technology architecture portfolio.
• Use the application integration portfolio to stay updated on the application landscape.

Identify Risks Associated with Solution Architecture

• Identify business risks related to hardware and infrastructure implementation.
• Develop risk mitigation plans.

Policy Review and Implementation

• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policy standards, procedures, and processes.
• Stay updated with effective policy and practice strategies.

Reporting

• Prepare and submit reports as required to update progress or inform management decisions.
• Develop functional reporting systems for management projects or performance.

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, or procurement teams, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholder levels.
• Represent the organization in external activities and events.
