About the role

The Technician - Other works on all on-site installations, repair and test tasks within their area of expertise.

This is a 6 months contract.

What you will be doing

Key Accountabilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems related to explosives handling and delivery, such as: Bulkemulsion, Charging units & Emulsion plant / Noise Plant.
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict compliance with explosives regulations, mining safety protocols, and company procedures.
• Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures, hazardous area classifications, and PPE standards.
• Conduct safety checks before and after machinery operation.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting on electrical equipment and repairs under time constraints to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Charging specialist.
• Align and calibrate mechanical systems for accurate explosive charging operations.
• Use specialized tools to ensure the reliability and accuracy of emulsion and charging systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance to avoid mechanical failures in mission-critical systems.
• Inspect pumps, hydraulic systems, and mechanical linkages regularly.
• Identify wear and tear and replace faulty components proactively.
• Maintain service logs, inspection sheets, and breakdown reports.
• Report potential hazards or equipment failures to supervisors or engineering teams.
• Understanding of explosives handling regulations (e.g., MSHA and Hydraulic system knowledge).
