Technician (Hyundai Amanzimtoti)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Repair and service motor vehicles according to Motus standards and specifications.
2. Establish parts required for service or repairs and ensure correct parts are ordered.
3. Report promptly to Foreman / Service Advisor on any additional work required.
4. Obtain authorization prior to performing additional work.
5. Seek technical information from Foreman / Master Technician on problem jobs.
6. Adhere to Motus workshop policies and procedures.
7. Ensure all old parts are placed in a plastic bag in the vehicle's boot, except for warranty work where old parts are returned to the Warranty Clerk.
8. Record all oils and consumables used on the job card.
9. Ensure worked hours are accurately clocked.
10. Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness and ensure seat and fender covers are clean.
11. Do not leave keys in unattended vehicles.
12. Keep the work bay safe, clean, and tidy.
13. Report any faulty or broken equipment to the Foreman / Workshop Manager.
14. Use special tools and equipment according to safety regulations and specifications.
15. Ensure hand tools conform to Motus standards.
16. Take responsibility for apprentices and share technical knowledge through explanation, practice, and work monitoring, including fault rectification.
17. Perform reasonable requests outside your job description as directed by management.
