Job description

We have an opening in our Packaged Gas Engineering Department located in Cape Town. We invite suitably qualified candidates who meet the requirements for this role to apply.

Overview and Key Responsibilities

The Technician will be responsible for performing installation and maintenance activities at our operational sites in the Western Cape effectively, efficiently, and safely. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities as directed.
2. Assisting with the execution of identified project activities as instructed.
3. Reporting on maintenance, project, and safety activities performed.
4. Supporting the implementation of required safety and departmental systems.
5. Ensuring compliance with necessary safety systems and protocols.

Essential Requirements

1. Matric certificate with Maths and Science.
2. Completed NTC 2 - 4 qualification or equivalent.
3. Red Seal Trade Tested Artisan (preferably a Fitter).
4. Registered SAQCC Practitioner.
   
5. 3 to 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Proficient in MS Office Suite and computer literate.
8. Valid unendorsed Code B driver’s license.
9. Must be willing to travel to other regions as necessary;
   
10. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
11. Availability for standby duties on weekends and public holidays as required.
