We are seeking a skilled and reliable Technician based in Port Elizabeth to provide comprehensive software and hardware support across client sites. This role focuses on maintaining and servicing Electronic Security and Safety Systems, as well as Workforce Management Solutions, in alignment with existing contract agreements.
The Technician will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments, delivering high-quality technical support, and fostering customer satisfaction through timely and effective service delivery.
What you'll do :
- Medium to High Level Technical Support on systems, hardware and software (Onsite, Remote, Telephonic)
- Customer Technical Liaison
- General Fault Finding Troubleshooting
- Infrastructure Fault Finding Commissioning
- Project Commissioning
- System Commissioning
- Technical Training (Customer Internal)
- Technical sales lead development
- Service Calls : Support on all hardware / software installed on all sites.
- Assist HLS with database issues (e.g., SQL Express)
- Update incident / ticket system promptly for tracking
- Maintain constant communication with customers regarding tickets or service issues
- Coordinate small installations, ensuring client requirements and deadlines are met
- Schedule and perform hardware/software maintenance as per SLA and supplier requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation
- Complete general admin duties: timesheets, documentation, reporting, health & safety
- Provide training: customer, supplier, technical assistants
- Assist peers with technical advice, workload, or participation
Your expertise :
- 5+ years relevant experience; 2+ years leading teams
- 2+ years project experience
- 3+ years security software/hardware installation
- 5+ years experience with BES / SQUBE or SYNERION software/hardware implementation and commissioning
- Networking skills: TCP/IP, DHCP, Static VLAN
- Electronic skills: Low Current Power, Relays
- Experience with installation of turnstiles, vehicle barriers, mantraps
- Certification and experience in CCTV and access control solutions (e.g., Impro, Gallagher, Milestone, Axis, etc.)
- Fire certification is an advantage
- Experience with Building Management systems (e.g., Tridium) is an advantage
- Experience servicing/installing HW/SW from NEXTEC SBT and others
- Structured fault-finding skills in Electronic Security and Safety Systems
- Skills in access control and CCTV systems
- Understanding of high-demand customer service market
- Skills in software and hardware installation
Qualifications :
- Grade 12 or equivalent diploma
- MCSE, N+, A+, or N.DIP in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (advantage)
- Training certification in Access Control or Time & Attendance systems
- SQL query experience/certification (advantage)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- PSIRA Certification (Grade E-C)

- Fire: Ziton, Technoswitch
- Time & Attendance: BES Suite, SQUBE, Jarrison, Kronos
