Job Title: Technical WordPress Developer

Location: Cape Twon / George

Job Type: Contract - Onsite (3pm - 12am nightshift)

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Technical WordPress Developer with hands-on experience in WordPress plugins, Avia Builder, and Elementor. You will play a key role in maintaining, customising, and modernising WordPress websites, including migrating content and layouts from Avia Builder to Elementor, optimising for mobile performance, and ensuring seamless user experience across devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise WordPress websites using Elementor and Avia Builder
• Migrate existing pages and content from Avia Builder to Elementor while preserving layout and design integrity
• Customise and configure WordPress themes and third-party plugins to meet project requirements
• Implement responsive and mobile-optimised designs for performance and usability
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure quality standards
• Troubleshoot issues related to plugins, theme conflicts, or page builder limitations
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and content creators to execute website improvements
• Maintain best practices for code quality, security, and site performance
• Provide documentation and technical guidance as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in WordPress development
• Proficiency with Elementor or Avia Builder
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
• Experience with plugin management, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Proven experience in content migration and layout recreation between page builders
• Solid grasp of responsive web design principles and mobile optimisation
• Familiarity with WordPress theme architecture and customisation
• Basic understanding of SEO best practices and page speed optimisation
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with custom theme or plugin development
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., Lighthouse, GTmetrix)
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), or custom post types
