Job description

This role is a unique opportunity to travel across parks throughout Africa, working directly with on-the-ground teams to drive effective technology adoption and support conservation efforts where they happen.

This 12-month Technical Trainer role is initially Johannesburg based, then on-site, paying R540K per annum.

THE COMPANY :

This organisation supports vital conservation efforts across Africa by managing national parks and protected areas through long-term partnerships with governments. Operating in multiple countries, they focus on sustainable, results-driven management to protect biodiversity and preserve some of the continent’s most important ecosystems.

Recognising that conservation today goes beyond boots on the ground, they combine the latest technology with practical fieldwork. From deploying AI-driven conservation tools to managing infrastructure and streamlining data systems, their work enables more informed decision-making and more effective protection of wildlife and natural resources.

THE ROLE :

As Technical Trainer, you will serve as the key link between the organisation’s technology strategy and its decentralised, field-based park teams.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering bilingual training (in French and English) for park and regional staff, ensuring they can confidently adopt and fully utilise both new and existing systems, while aligning with established SOPs and policies. After onboarding, you’ll travel across the organisation’s network of parks throughout Africa to lead hands-on training sessions, support the onboarding of new staff, and conduct regular refresher training to promote consistent technology adoption.

The role begins with a 3-month onboarding period at Head Office, where you’ll work closely with technical specialists to gain a deep understanding of the full technology ecosystem, from IT infrastructure to AI-enabled conservation tools and data platforms, equipping you to translate complex systems into practical, accessible training.

THE REQUIREMENTS :

Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)

Tertiary qualification

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Comfortable presenting and engaging with diverse teams, both in-person and virtually

Willingness to travel extensively across Africa, often to remote locations
