Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking a Technical Test Analyst to own end-to-end testing of a mission-critical investment platform in Johannesburg. You’ll focus on Gemstone and Visualworks, ensuring data integrity and smooth workflows across multiple systems.

Join a fast-paced Agile team to build and maintain automation (API with Karate/Postman, UI with Playwright), validate data with SQL, and apply AI-powered test ideas to improve coverage.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years strong technical, integration, data validation and regression testing experience.
• Hands-on exposure to Gemstone/Visualworks in financial services.
• Strong SQL and database skills (MongoDB, PostgreSQL or equivalent).
• Experience in investment/wealth/platform testing preferred.
• ISTQB/ISEB and relevant degree advantageous.
• Analytical, proactive, collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end manual and automated testing (functional, integration, regression, data & non-functional).
• Focus on Gemstone and Visualworks – journeys, business rules, workflows, forms and integrations.
• Build and maintain automation (API with Karate/Postman, UI with Playwright).
• Validate data accuracy, reconciliations, calculations and cross-system flows using SQL.
• Drive quality in Agile (backlog refinement, sprint & PI planning).
• Apply AI tools for test case generation, defect prediction, self-healing scripts and smarter coverage.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners and BAs.
