Job description

Qualifications Required:

  1. A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent)
  2. Postgraduate qualification in Education Leadership or Management (advantageous)
  3. Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
  4. Minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role within an educational institution
  5. Proven academic record and expertise in curriculum development

Skills and Experience Required:

  1. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships with staff, students, and parents
  3. In-depth knowledge of the South African education system and curriculum (CAPS or IEB)
  4. Experience in academic oversight, student discipline, and pastoral care
  5. Proven ability to manage and implement strategic plans and educational initiatives
  6. Strong organizational and time-management skills
  7. Competence in managing school resources, budgets, and schedules
  8. Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure
  9. A passion for student welfare and academic excellence

Job Description:

  1. Assist the Principal in the daily management and operation of the school
  2. Support the implementation of the school's strategic plan and academic goals
  3. Lead the development and review of the school curriculum to ensure academic excellence
  4. Oversee the professional development of teaching staff and ensure that the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained
  5. Monitor student performance and provide interventions to support those in need of additional assistance
  6. Take charge of student discipline and pastoral care, promoting a positive and respectful school culture
  7. Work with the Principal and other school leaders to develop and manage school policies and procedures
  8. Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider school community, providing regular updates on student progress and school developments
  9. Manage school events, extracurricular activities, and student welfare initiatives
  10. Deputize for the Principal in their absence and assume leadership responsibilities as required
