Job description

iOCO Infrastructure Services invites you to explore possibilities. We're seeking a tech-savvy and customer-focused Technical Support Specialist to be the go-to expert for resolving technical issues and delivering exceptional user experiences.

In this role, you'll troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, guide users through solutions, and ensure every interaction results in a satisfied customer.

Your ability to simplify complex issues, remain calm under pressure, and provide top-tier support makes you a vital part of our IT success.

What You'll Do

  1. Provide excellent customer interaction.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely communication with clients regarding logged incidents.
  3. Collaborate well with colleagues, be a team player, and assist where needed.
  4. Adhere to all correspondence and documentation standards.
  5. Follow instructions, including customer Working Instructions (WI) or management directives.
  6. Perform daily tasks to ensure reliability, availability, and serviceability with minimal client disruption.

Your Expertise

  • Proficiency in English, including email communication.
  • Excellent customer interaction and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and standards (e.g., link aggregation, spanning tree).
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with wireless radio networks, maintenance, and establishing new links (multiple brands).
  • Data centre infrastructure design and build experience.
  • Knowledge of UPS batteries and power systems.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Fibre splicing and testing experience (minimum 4 years).

Qualifications Required

  • National Senior Certificate/Matric/N3/Grade 12.
  • Pass recruitment checks (reference, criminal, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fibre certification.
  • Working at heights certification.
  • Medical certificate.

  • Position: Permanent
  • Location: Midrand
  • Work Environment: Office-based, 5 days a week
  • Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, bending, stretching, climbing
  • Travel: Must have a personal vehicle and valid driver's license or reliable transportation
