Job description

An IT expert company is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to service the Cape Town, Western Cape region.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Receive internal training on technical best practices, CE tools, and internal monitoring and reporting procedures. Perform on-site IT hardware break/fix interventions, with remote assistance from the Technical team if necessary.
  2. Conduct physical equipment audits at client premises or data centers.
  3. Handle broader technical issues as required, guided by the technical teams, depending on your skills and company needs.
  4. Work directly with the Service Desk Team, managing customer calls logged in your region, and report maintenance activities in real-time using available tools.
  5. Manage local spare parts inventory and report stock levels monthly.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Job Requirements
  1. Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing server environments.
  3. Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and standby shifts as per SLA obligations.
  4. Knowledge of Server, Storage, and Networking environments (Cisco, Dell/EMC, IBM, Lenovo X-series, HPE).
Competencies
  1. Broad understanding of IT operations across server, storage, and networking technologies.
  2. Experience in setting up and supporting data center environments.
  3. Ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  4. Knowledge of IT standards, operating systems, and current technology trends.
