Job summary

BYD Energy Storage is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Kenhardt, South Africa to install, commission, repair and maintain energy storage systems on client sites. You will diagnose issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation.

Responsibilities include on-site customer training, collaborating with the support and R&D teams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related field.
• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning and maintenance of energy storage or power systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields.

Required Skills

• At least 3 years of experience in the power industry or with high/low voltage systems, with preference for those with energy storage experience.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance, preferably familiar with energy storage systems.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, particularly energy storage systems and their principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, capable of working in high/low voltage environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, able to work efficiently under pressure.
• Relevant electrical or high voltage operation certifications are preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to flexible working hours.
