We are looking for a Technical Supervisor to plan, prepare, co-ordinate activities and supervise all staff and area of responsibility under his / her control within budget to ensure that equipment is adequately maintained to ensure maximum reliability and availability of plant and equipment for operations
- Supervise the execution of scheduled and unscheduled Maintenance to ensure that plant equipment is effectively maintained at optimal availability.
- Plan, schedule and manage the execution of major repairs to ensure that all major works are efficiently completed within occupation window.
- Conduct route course analysis of equipment failures to determine areas of improvement in equipment performance thereby ensuring that the overall performance of the terminal continuously improves.
- Lead, encourage, support and facilitate teamwork and innovative thinking to find best solutions to improve availability of equipment.
- Mentoring and coaching workforce
- Enforce the application of organisational disciplinary code in compliance with the Labour Relations Act 66 / 1995
- Enforce application of Health and Safety act and other applicable risks thereby ensuring that the Terminal remains compliant with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Compile, execute and monitor the application of Individual Development Programme (IDP) for all staff members, to ensure training targets are met and that employees are continuously developed.
- Monitor staff performance and take corrective action to ensure motivated and productive workforce.
- Conduct quality assurance and improvement on maintenance done.
- Plan and communicate with operational, maintenance controller and fleet and research of all aspects of repairs and maintenance, minor refurbishments, projects to ensure that quality and deadlines are met in line with budget.
- Conduct a skills audit to determine skills gap for staff under his control to ensure that training needs in line with safety and technological advances are addressed adequately.
- Verify, order and provide feedback to artisans of spares and equipment with regards to breakdowns / unscheduled maintenance to ensure that the plant and equipment is repaired in shortest time to improve availability for operations.
- Supervision of contractors that are allocated work within his jurisdiction to ensure that work is performed according to specifications, safety standards and deadlines.
- Inspect, verify and compile staff time documents to ensure they reflect the times worked accurately and are paid accordingly.
- Conduct frequent equipment inspections to ensure that maintenance is done according to instructions.
- Conduct regular one to one performance management interviews to ensure staff are meeting with objectives and recognition is given and shortcomings are addressed accordingly and timeously
- Perform standby duties as and when required
