Job summary

Bay Recruit in Johannesburg is seeking a skilled Artisan for maintenance leadership in a production environment. The role focuses on identifying maintenance needs, leading during breakdowns, and providing technical guidance to ensure reliable machinery performance.

The ideal candidate has Matric and a Qualified Artisan qualification, with strong mechanical/electrical/machining experience and leadership capabilities to coordinate repairs and installations across the site.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent is required.
• Qualified Artisan designation preferred.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical and/or machining experience required.
• Good technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities expected.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Basic computer skills expected.
• Ability to work effectively in a production environment and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report maintenance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and report maintenance requirements.
• Take a leadership role during equipment breakdowns when required.
• Provide technical advice and assistance.
• Assemble, install, repair and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Ensure maintenance is performed according to OEM standards.

Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent.
• Qualified Artisan.
• Valid Code 08 drivers licence.
• 5 years experience in the relevant technical discipline.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical and/or machining experience.
• Steel/metal processing or manufacturing experience highly advantageous.
• Previous leadership experience advantageous.
• Good technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a production environment and manage multiple priorities.
