Job summary

University of Fort Hare is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead all technical services functions for an underground hard-rock mining operation in Botswana.

The role oversees mine planning, geology, surveying, and technical support to ensure safe, efficient mining, production optimisation, and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and English fluency are essential for driving teams across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in technical services management within mining.
• Underground hard-rock mining experience required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Manage mine planning, geology, surveying, and technical services activities.
• Provide technical support to optimise production and resource recovery.
