Technical Services Manager

Introduction

SPAR Phoenix Industrial is currently recruiting for a Technical Services Manager to join their dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To efficiently oversee the maintenance of facilities equipment and services for the KZN distribution centre ensuring regulatory compliance while optimizing costs.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Support the management of equipment and facility maintenance at KZN DC to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
2. Integration with the various department managers in the DC to ensure the best utilization of facilities.
3. Support the business in driving continuous improvement in equipment and facility management services.
4. Management of all service contractors through SLAs and implement corrective actions when deviations from the SLA occur.
5. Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and standards.
6. Oversee facilities management projects providing technical support as needed.
7. Promote adherence to established processes for equipment maintenance and infrastructure upkeep.
8. Support the planned and preventative maintenance plans proactively.
9. Monitor maintenance budgets ensuring cost control and optimization.
10. Investigate and recommend innovative cost-effective solutions based on best practices.
11. Provide monthly reports on maintenance schedules for all technical assets and facilities maintenance projects.
12. Lead and manage a team including contractors and suppliers ensuring high standards of performance and resolving conflicts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
13. Effectively use green area meeting to ensure the delivery of the team goals through relevant scorecards as per the strategy.
14. Responsible for the training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development of employees directly reporting to you.

Desired Experience & Qualification

1. Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Facilities Management or a related field.
2. 5 years of experience in technical maintenance or facilities management.
3. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
4. Strong understanding of maintenance compliance and supplier management processes.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
7. Ability to manage budgets and cost control.
8. Proficiency in SAP or maintenance management systems (advantageous).
9. Valid driver's license.
