Job description

The Technical Service Representative position involves providing technical support for roofing to the sales team both on-site and in the office.

Typical Competencies Required:
  • Good understanding of fireproofing, construction industry, and heavy-duty coatings.
  • Self-confident and persistent.
  • Technical background with quality control experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Basic report writing skills.
  • Willing and able to travel throughout Sub-Saharan Africa when required.
  • Must have a valid passport.
Performance Areas
Technical Support to Sales

Support sales representatives and their clients. Conduct site inspections to ensure product application complies with specifications. Apply sample panels as references for future claims.

Technical Assistance

Provide training, demonstrations, and technical advice to clients on-site or telephonically. Provide samples for contracts where required.

Product Development & Evaluation

Assist with product development and evaluation as requested.

Investigation

Perform investigative work when requested. Follow up on customer complaints with field and lab investigations.

Administration

Maintain accurate records on each project. Submit timely and accurate call reports and technical reports using digital platforms like Tru QC. Keep detailed reference reports on major projects or those with warranties.

Compliance

Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Health & Safety

Wear PPE and follow safety protocols when attending sites.

Protection of Company Assets

Use and store tools and equipment correctly. Take responsibility for company-issued equipment.
