Responsible for leading and developing a team of technical resources that develop and maintain data solutions (analysis, design, engineering, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance). The purpose of this role is to lead, grow, provide advice, and support data engineers and analysts in the data team.

Responsible for prioritizing work, leading, and developing a team of technical resources that develop and maintain data solutions. As a Scrum Master & Technical Lead, facilitate agile development and ensure the Scrum framework is followed effectively, including:
- Organizing and moderating key Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review
- Identifying and resolving blockers that slow down the team's progress
- Working with stakeholders to address dependencies and challenges
- Bridging gaps between developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders
- Monitoring Sprint progress
- Implementing processes that enable delivery excellence and encourage others to provide exceptional service
- Inspiring and guiding diverse technical teams, resolving conflicts, and mentoring staff
- Communicating effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
- Translating business IT requirements into implementable solutions & continuously monitoring to ensure operational continuity and effectiveness
- Assessing, identifying, and mitigating potential risks within the data function by complying with technology business policies and process requirements (SDLC and change/release management)
- Designing relevant data solutions and producing specifications and architecture in accordance with standards and governance
- Analyzing and identifying problems/requirements to determine impact, patterns, trends, and best practice solutions
- Estimating resources and timelines required for delivery
- Overseeing and managing all escalated technical support requests, ensuring effective resolution within SLAs
- Implementing IT strategies supporting operational and service excellence
- Participating in communities of practice and contributing to organizational knowledge
- Supporting effective teamwork within the function
- Planning and managing performance, skills development, employment equity, talent, and team culture to foster innovation and efficiency
Qualifications:
- Completed IT Degree or Diploma
- 3+ years BI or Data development experience, mainly in data preparation, pipelines, and ETL
- 2+ years experience leading technical teams
- Good knowledge of architecture, design principles, and data governance
- Knowledge and experience in Property, Financial, Auto Industries is an advantage
- Knowledge of Spatial Data is an advantage
Technical Skills:
- Strong MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other DB technologies
- Programming skills in Python, C# are advantageous
- Knowledge of IT Security, AI, Intelligent Automation, Cloud technologies is an advantage
