JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT ENGINEER – SCREEN MEDIA SOLUTIONS, MA AFRICA, BASED IN CENTURION, GAUTENG

We are seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer – Screen Media Solutions – MA Africa. The successful candidate will provide expert product and application support within Metso and to end users. Key activities include supporting the Screen Media portfolio, technical/field support, application and process support, warranty and pricing support.

The Technical Sales Support Engineer will collaborate with the MA sales team to develop joint product sales strategies and action plans for the specific market area.

This role involves liaising with supply operations, Global PL functions, and the MA sales team to ensure high service standards. The engineer will also conduct internal and external product training programs.

The Technical Sales Support Engineer acts as an extension of the global PL Product Support role and will manage on-site installation supervision, process, and performance inspections.

You will report directly to the Head of Screening - TSS.

This position is mainly based in Centurion, Gauteng.

TEAM YOU’LL BELONG TO

You will join our Technical Sales Support team, working closely with clients, managers, internal staff, suppliers, and customer relationships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  1. Draft technical proposals and provide engineering support
  2. Support applications and processes
  3. Handle warranty issues and problem solving
  4. Support installation and inspections on-site
  5. Conduct market analysis on competitors and pricing trends
  6. Support pricing strategies and complex quotations
  7. Assist in product selection and configuration for complex applications
  8. Update and train internal teams on product knowledge
  9. Provide external training to end customers
  10. Implement global product strategies regionally
  11. Assist in developing sales plans and strategies
  12. Identify new business opportunities
  13. Maintain a high level of customer support and company image
  14. Travel extensively for customer presentations and visits
  15. Perform other duties as assigned

WHO YOU ARE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in related products and screening
  • Up-to-date technical product knowledge
  • Strong process and application expertise
  • Experience with complex matrix relationships
  • Support role experience and understanding of core customer processes

  • Proficiency in MS Office
