Job description

About the Company

We are a company that values drive and commitment, looking for individuals who are passionate about sales and eager to grow within our organization. We operate in various markets, including swimming pools, agriculture, hydro, and aquaponics, and we are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and opportunity.

About the Role

The suitable candidate needs to be fully able to work alone on internal sales (counter), taking telephonic calls as well as dealing with and processing customer orders who arrive at our premises. They will only, after training, have to work there when the Internal Sales Representative is on leave or booked off sick.

Responsibilities

  • Visit a pre-determined number of customers a week, emphasizing that this position would entail being out of the office visiting existing and potential new customers and markets for 90% of the week.
  • Complete weekly Friday reports on customer visits as well as Excel spreadsheet reports done weekly and monthly for their region.
  • Attend shows we are exhibiting at in their region, such as Nampo in Bothaville and similar shows in and around Cape Town.
  • Stay overnight on possible business trips to outlying areas, probably only every 2 months.
  • Put together at least basic plans and strategies to enhance and move our company forward in the market.
  • Close deals and build strong business relationships, not just be an order taker.
  • Communicate properly with clients and our own staff.

Requirement

  • Must have external sales experience, preferably in a technical nature.
  • Technical sales experience will be very helpful, as will a person from the Swimming Pool or Pumps industry.
  • Must have a number of years of external sales experience already.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently and with initiative.
  • Obvious PC knowledge, including basic Excel and Word documents, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience with Syspro and Q bit for sales or similar software packages.

Preferred Skills

  • Passion for sales and selling, not just wanting a job.
  • Drive and commitment to grow and mature within the company.

Pay range and compensation package

  • Salary of R28,000 per month (R336,000 per annum maximum).
  • Travel Allowance of R4,000 per month (R48,000).
  • Medical Aid: Company and employee 50%/50% with a maximum contribution from the company of R3,500 per month. Offer must be taken up within 3 months or the offer lapses.
  • Provident Fund: The company contributes 10% of the pensionable salary amount, covering death and disability contributions and costs/fees, with the remaining amount invested in the Retirement fund. The employee contributes 7.5% of their pensionable salary. This is a compulsory fund, with a 3-month waiting period before the employee can become a member.
  • Funeral Policy: A deduction from the employee of R48.32 monthly, compulsory for all staff.
  • Leave of 17 working days a year is granted.
  • Fuel card/toll fees provided and paid for by the company, with an acceptable and reasonable amount available when the employee is on leave.
  • Company cell phone provided and paid for by the company, with reasonable personal use allowed.
  • Very structured quarterly commission.
