SUMMARY :
PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION
To market and sell industrial valve products and solutions to mining and other heavy industry sectors within Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo region. The role requires deep technical understanding of industrial valve applications, compliance with industry standards, and the ability to deliver tailored solutions that optimize operational efficiency and safety. The representative is responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining key industrial client relationships, providing technical training and supporting after-sales service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma in Business Management
- Engineering degree (Preferably Mechanical) is advantageous
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Minimum 5-10 years sales experience within the valve industry, preferably industrial sectorStrong technical background in selling complex technical productsSound knowledge of Sales leadership principles and techniquesComprehensive Valve Product KnowledgeIn-depth understanding of the South African industrial market and competitorsProven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key accountsTrack record of consistently achieving Sales, Gross Profit (GP) and EBIT targetsExcellent communication and negotiating skills across all organizational levelsSolid understanding of customer service principles and best practicesStrong numerical and organisational skillsDemonstrated leadership qualities and people management skillsEffective problem solver and solutions providerProficient in CRM systems, Navision and Microsoft applicationsExperience working in a corporate environmentAbility to analyze customer needs and recommend tailored technical solutionsSkilled in market research and competitive intelligence gatheringExperienced in delivering product training and technical presentationsWillingness and ability to travel extensively to client sites and industry eventsDUTIES :
Customer liaison and service – Grow the client baseEnsuring CRM is always updated on all aspects.Assisting with quotations and tenders (Clean quotations)Following up on outstanding quotations and tendersLiaising with QC / QA department on special requests and specificationsFollowing up on back orders and deliveriesMeeting monthly Sales / GP TargetsTechnical product promotion to end usersNegotiating on sales and orders – Achieve monthly sales and GP targetsGathering and Analysing market intelligenceGrow and ensure up to date technical product & application knowledgeConstantly implementing various tasks to increase Quotation / Order conversion rateKnow and understand specifications indicated on RFQ’s applicable to the products offeredAwareness of Specification changes and or updates at end usersAssess and advise on the Impact and implications of the various specificationsTraining on Specifications to relay information and impact of non-complianceConstantly do self-training on own and competitor products to know and understand the differencesSpecifying the full product basket of company at all clientsPOSITION INFO :
