Job description

A global leader in foundry chemicals and high-performance phenolic resins is seeking a Technical Sales Representative. With a production and sales network spanning 22 countries and a workforce of approximately 1,700 employees, the company is a key player in the industry. This position is based in Gauteng (East Rand) and will primarily cover Gauteng, as well as parts of Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, and Cape Town.

Requirements:

  1. Grade 12
  2. Tertiary Sales / relevant qualification advantageous
  3. Min 5 years sales experience in resin / chemical / foundry / structural timber
  4. Own car
  5. Valid driver's license
  6. Computer literacy - Intermediate
  7. Language: English / Afrikaans and one other official language advantageous

Duties:

Customer Relations (40%):

  • Customer contact, relationship building and brand building
  • Address customer concerns and liaise with internal sales and Store
  • Identify potential new products
  • Monitor competitor activities and new developments
  • Reporting and complying with policies

Technical Support (40%):

  • Provide technical advice on product systems and application
  • Problem-solving partnering with customers and conducting trials
  • Product performance reporting, identifying threats and shortfalls

Administration (10%):

  • Achieve sales budget
  • Quarterly and continuous forecasts
  • Customer movement reporting and update key account strategies
  • Margin management, sales and customer reports
  • Customer quotations and communicating pricing
  • Inventory counts

Environment, Health and Safety (10%):

  • Responsible care, compliance and commitment to healthy environment
