Job description

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the full sales process and as a result be able to prospect clients and close deals. They should be well organized and be able to manage the daily operations of assigned accounts. In order to continue to generate revenue, this candidate should be able to uncover new client needs and find a way to add value to their business.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales revenue based on regional sales target and personal sales target.
  • Accountable for own, creation of new, and maintenance of existing area customer relationships.
  • Support the sales team with both existing and potential client business in the specification of products and the design of interior layouts
  • Assist with product presentations to potential clients, architects, engineers and applicators
  • To maximise market advantage through a strong focus on the contractor market sector, whilst ensuring alignment with end user requirements, specifier requirements and overall customer relationship management.
  • Form a close relationship with the architect, engineering and design community.
  • Where appropriate, improve the effectiveness of the customer by providing product training
  • Maintain and support architects, designers, dealer principals and staff
  • Meet and discuss key value propositions with all stakeholders in the construction industry
  • Develop new client leads and contacts to ensure effective penetration
  • Build sustainable relationships to maximise market advantage ensuring the Key Performance Indicator is met regarding Mapei specification vs projects.
  • Maintain the target closure rate as established by management.
  • Meeting the overall forecast accuracy target as set by Management
  • Ensure follow through and finalization from specification to order.
  • Ensure closure target is met of specifications to product orders:
  • Ensure forecast accuracy target is met by timeously and accurately supplying project information.
  • Manage the project register by continuously updating and holding monthly team meetings.
  • Adherence to company reporting procedure/commercial admin systems, offering appropriate feedback and information when required or requested.
  • Accountable for maintenance of personal trade spend within the assigned sales region.
  • Analyse and assess customer product mix to show value add to the customer and Mapei, whilst aligning with overall company strategy.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification NQF Level 6 plus 5 years in related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills Strong understanding of full sales process.
