Job description

Our client is an importer, manufacturer and installer of a broad range of industrial door and space separation solutions, including automatic high speed doors & air curtains, PVC strip curtains, welding screens and industrial partition curtains. This range is supplied to all industries in South Africa, as well as exported to the rest of Africa.

Increased demand for these products has resulted in an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, technically-minded Technical Sales Representative, to join the team and play a key role in shaping the future of the company.

The selected candidate will assume responsibility for driving sales growth, by identifying new business opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing clients and providing technical solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Client engagement and relationship management, i..e:
  • Identify and engage potential clients across various industries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on product selection and application to meet client requirements.
  • Sales & Business Development, i.e:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets.
  • Proactively pursue new business opportunities in South Africa and neighbouring regions.
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in the market and provide feedback on potential new products or solutions that meet emerging customer needs.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Manage the full sales cycle - from lead generation and site visits to quotes and deal closure.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to stay current and build brand visibility.
  • Technical Support & Product Knowledge, i.e.:
  • Educate clients through product demonstrations and training sessions as needed.
  • Conduct site assessments and provide tailored recommendations.
  • Serve as primary point of contact before, during, and after installation, maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Visit sites of larger installation projects to provide on-site oversight.
  • Trouble shoot any issues that arise during or after installation, ensuring high standards of service are upheld.
  • Stay updated on product offerings, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Reporting & Administration, i.e.:
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in the industrial HVAC, cold storage, or cold chain industry is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of industrial doors, PVC products, air curtains, and related solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings and provide suitable solutions.
  • A self-motivated, results-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Their own reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license and willingness to travel for client visits, installations and events across South Africa and neighbouring countries, as and when required.

A monthly basic salary plus commission will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on qualifications experience. This is an excellent opportunity to grow with the business, due to high demand for the company's products, across a broad range of sectors.
