Technical Sales / Key Account Manager Post-harvest

An international innovative post-harvest technology company, specializing in extending the freshness and quality of fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers, is seeking to expand its team.

The company is a significant player in the field of postharvest products, focusing on extending and enhancing shelf life.

They are recruiting a dynamic and energetic Technical Sales / Key Account Manager to market post-harvest products in South Africa.

The role is based in the Western Cape, with travel throughout Southern Africa expected.

Responsibilities :

Establish relations with commercial growers, packhouses, retailers, and industry organizations.

Visit farms, packhouses, and other leads to provide technical advice on delaying the deterioration of post-harvest produce safely and effectively.

Conduct commercial technical sales, oversee logistics, and provide customer service.

Requirements :

Tertiary qualification (BSc or ND) in Agriculture, Plant Sciences, Agronomy, Horticulture, Food Science, or Agribusiness.

At least four years of experience with post-harvest handling of fruit and / or vegetables, liaising with growers and packhouses, or providing technical support and sales.

Experience in marketing communications and industry research is beneficial, including building a reputation and recognition for a brand.

Must have a strong personality, be a self-starter, and confident in approaching new leads.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.

Own vehicle required (expenses will be reimbursed).
