What you will be doing :

  • Lead day-to-day operations and overall delivery of a new, education-focused programme.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure milestones are met.
  • Coordinate efforts across government departments, technical experts, and partners for smooth implementation.
  • Proactively track progress and address operational challenges.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for provincial and national stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships to support cross-sector collaboration.
  • Align programme activities with broader initiatives through steering committee engagement.
  • Contribute to the design, piloting, and refinement of digital tools, including data collection instruments, dashboards, and reporting systems.
  • Work with technical partners to ensure tools are intuitive, scalable, interoperable, and meet functional requirements.
  • Deliver structured training for officials at provincial, district, and school levels.
  • Embed knowledge and tools within government systems to promote long-term sustainability.
  • Create practical manuals and toolkits to support institutionalisation and scale-up.
  • Use an adaptive approach, applying lessons learned to improve implementation.
  • Pilot and refine tools and strategies based on feedback and evidence.
  • Draft clear, insightful reports for donors, government stakeholders, and partners.

What our client is looking for :

  • Relevant Honours Degree in a related field (Education, Health, Public Policy, Computer Science etc.).
  • 5 - 8 years in project management within the education, public health, technology development sector.
  • Proven success working in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience managing and implementing data or technology-based development projects.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Stata, R, or Power BI.
  • Experience with evaluation and education assessments would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in a South African language other than English will be a strong advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
