Job description

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS : Reporting to the Senior Manager IT Projects, with support functions to CEO, CTO, and other departments of Toyota Connected Africa (TCA), the incumbent will be responsible for delivering technology advancement projects, focusing on the "Connected Car" and innovative enterprise software solutions.

They will collaborate with cross-functional teams across TCA, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM), and the dealer network.

The candidate must possess strong technology, delivery, and relationship-building skills.

This position is part of the Toyota Connected Africa technical team and is based in Johannesburg.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :

  • Support activities related to software development teams.
  • Gather user requirements for project delivery and ensure support is available.
  • Set and communicate attainable goals for project delivery to stakeholders.
  • Track and report progress on project activities.
  • Guide team members to improve productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and assist with issue and risk mitigation.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Represent the company in software department, executive, and stakeholder meetings; report on project progress.
  • Follow proper procedures, methodologies, and processes in software development.
  • Document design plans (Architectural and UX) and software requirements.
  • Implement, document, and track testing approaches and methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on software development status in line with methodologies and stakeholder needs.
  • Participate in various stages of the software development lifecycle as needed.
  • Provide project support to TSAM Future Toyota department for the G-DCM project (Connected service).
  • Build relationships and maintain communication channels with local partners and Toyota Connected companies regarding the G-DCM and MaaS projects.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Understanding of Project Management processes, including SDLC and Agile methods.

  • Experience managing delivery teams with exposure to:
    • Software development languages (web/app)
    • Database systems and secure integrations
    • Complex enterprise applications
    • System integrations
    • Project management tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA)
    • Multinational and remote teams
  • Analytical and technical skills focused on quality and delivery.
