Job description

Location: Midrand, Gauteng – ideally 3 days onsite per week pre-go-live

Duration: 3 months

Go-Live: 19 October

Contract: Full-time

The Role

We’re looking for a strong, technically capable D365 Business Central Project Manager to take ownership of a late-stage ERP project and drive it through to a successful 19 October go-live, followed by post-go-live support.

This is not a project that needs reinventing. The priority is to step in quickly, establish the facts, bring structure and accountability, and make sure the team is genuinely ready for go-live.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take ownership of the project through the final stages of delivery and go-live
• Drive UAT, readiness and cutover activities
• Establish clear facts, timelines, risks and dependencies
• Hold project teams and process owners accountable for deliverables
• Provide strong stakeholder management and transparent reporting
• Challenge delays and issues assertively
• Coordinate technical teams across Business Central, NAV and integrations
• Oversee new functionality, particularly around logistics and warehousing
• Manage the transition from implementation into go-live and post-go-live support
• Ensure the project is genuinely ready rather than simply reporting that it is

Key Experience

• Strong D365 ERP project management experience, Business Central would be a massive plus
• Proven ERP project delivery experience, particularly in the later stages of implementation
• Technical understanding of Business Central, integrations and NAV → BC migrations
• Experience with warehouse/logistics functionality and related customisations
• Comfortable working with technical teams and challenging them when required
• Strong understanding of UAT, cutover and go-live readiness
• Assertive, organised and highly delivery-focused
• Excellent stakeholder and process-owner management
• Able to step into an existing project and make an immediate impact

The project is focused specifically on Business Central, with functionality including logistics/warehouse processes, scanner-related warehouse customisation and NAV-to-BC integrations.

Working Pattern

• 3 days onsite per week in Midrand leading up to go-live
• Reduced onsite requirement post-go-live, expected to be around 1 day per week
• Gauteng-based candidates preferred, but the right Project Manager is more important than location
