Purpose Statement
  • To maintain the operational integrity of a business eco-system through monitoring and alerting to maintain system stability, reduce service disruptions, and working with first-line support to elevate the client experience.

  • To play an integral role, ensuring seamless operations and efficient business processes. This position involves a blend of tasks that support day-to-day operations, from managing data, handling administrative duties, assisting with project delivery, implementing operational improvements, and external vendor liaison. Your contribution is essential for maintaining the operational integrity of the Live Better ecosystem, working with various development teams to facilitate a productive environment.

Key Performance Areas

  • Providing administrative support to the operations team: Such as creating operational reports, compiling change requests, attending operations meetings.

  • Assist with implementing new processes and systems: Ensuring that any issues are identified and addressed quickly (time management), and that dashboards for visibility of products and systems are implemented smoothly and maintained.

  • Working/coordinating with other departments and teams: Such as IT, HR, and product-line specific teams, to ensure that the organisation’s processes and systems are integrated and running efficiently, and to address technical issues.

  • Monitoring and analysing performance data: To identify trends and issues, and to make recommendations for improvements.

  • Providing technical support: Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues (internal or external) impacting Live Better delivery and client experience.

  • Communication with partners: Cultivating and sustaining robust and collaborative relationships with both internal colleagues and a diverse range of external stakeholders; crucial for driving successful achievement of our strategic objectives, and to ensure that processes and systems run smoothly.

  • Continuously monitoring and improving processes: To increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Identifying and mitigating risks: Raising formal Enterprise risks that could impact organisational operations, and consulting with other stakeholders on risk mitigation.

  • Reporting: Assistance in preparing accurate, critical analysis of Operational information to present to EXCO to inform strategic decision making.

Qualifications (Minimum)
  • Diploma in Information Technology or Systems Analysis
  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
  • Certification in ITIL or AWS Foundation
Experience

Minimum:

  • At least 3-5 years' working experience in a technical environment with at least 3+ years' systems-related experience in a fast-moving, client-focused environment
  • Troubleshooting across the computer / technology environment, exposure to servers, databases, server security, networks, infrastructure, etc.
  • Building and maintaining effective vendor / 3rd party relationships (function specific)
  • In a capacity requiring effective communication and pulling multiple components together to achieve end goals
  • SQL

Ideal:

  • At least 5+ years' working experience in a technical environment with at least 3+ years' systems-related experience in a fast-moving, client-focused environment
  • Good technical skills: including experience with servers, databases, AWS understanding, Instana, Open Search, and software such as Control-M, GoAnywhere MFT, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Power Automate
Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Understanding of IT systems development processes
    • Of the principles and practices around vendor management and SLAs
    • Of general IT standards, quality assurance and governance
  • How to transfer skills and knowledge regarding new systems or system changes
  • The use of monitoring, technologies, best practices, and toolsets (understanding how the logs work, how it is displayed in the systems, etc.)
  • Business continuity principles and practices
