Overview

A leading manufacturer in the waste collection and disposal industry is seeking a Technical Mechanical Engineer / Technician to join its production team. The company specializes in the local manufacture of high-quality refuse compactors and lifting equipment, and is known for its commitment to durability, innovation, and reliable after-sales support.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and workshop operations.
  • Proven ability to work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings.
  • Strong, hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in vehicle, truck, or heavy equipment manufacturing (preferably in waste or lifting equipment).
  • Proficient in basic computer systems (CAD experience advantageous).
  • ECSA registration or eligibility will be advantageous.
  • Interpret and apply Mechanical Engineering drawings in a manufacturing environment.
  • Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Provide technical support to assembly and production teams.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to Engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and service departments to solve technical challenges.
  • Assist in testing, commissioning, and fault-finding of completed vehicles.
