United Exports is looking for a Technical Liaison to join our team in Paarl. The purpose of the role is to enable sales by ensuring all due diligence with customers is in place for sales to proceed without restrictions. The role also involves managing the customer claims process efficiently to ensure only legitimate claims are authorized.
Key Performance Outputs
- Invest in customer relationship management with account managers to understand customer requirements deeply.
- Request and complete Due Diligence packs from each client prior to the season.
- Liaise with the Sales team and product allocator on approved growers and varieties for each customer.
- Verify all requested documents and information before sending to the customer.
- Communicate approved Due Diligence packs to relevant teams and update client access lists on Datahive and Netsuite.
- Obtain and update customer specifications on Datahive, ensuring all relevant parties have signed off.
- Handle customer queries related to technical requirements and product quality promptly and effectively.
- Follow up on outstanding QC feedback within 48 hours of arrival; escalate if no feedback is received.
- Review QC reports for accuracy and compliance with customer specifications, including color scores.
- Address any discrepancies or insufficient information with the customer, including photos of quality issues and PUCs.
- Work closely with the Key Account Manager to optimize client account management.
- Review temperature alerts flagged by the Cold Chain Controller before arrival and inform relevant teams.
- Provide timely feedback to growers by emailing QC reports within 48 hours and include additional information if needed.
- Accurately record QC feedback on the ERP system using the R.A.G system, affecting grower payments.
- Follow up on downgraded or re-allocated stock, providing feedback and updating records.
- Obtain and file all dumping certificates.
- Ensure all QC reports and supporting documents are properly filed on a case level in the ERP system.
- Inform teams of quality trends regularly to support stock management decisions.
- Keep packhouses, producers, and relevant team members updated with the latest specifications and technical requirements.
- Maintain customer specifications on file and coordinate updates with the quality team.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Senior certificate / Grade 12 / Matric.
- Suitable tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
Functional / Technical
- Technical knowledge of the fruit industry.
- Market requirements and some product knowledge.
- Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in using Netsuite or similar ERP systems.
