Job description

Multinational Group with highly professional offices worldwide is seeking a Technical Key Account Manager for the Southern African Region (South Africa, Namibia & Botswana).

The Corporate Holding Company manufactures niche products and is the world's most trusted original equipment manufacturer (OEM), with machinery exported and assembled at customer sites.

Due to the uniqueness of their machinery and product suite, there are few competitors locally and internationally.

Beyond core products, offerings include accessories, upgrades, audits, repairs, maintenance, spare parts, training, and support, primarily serving the Mining Sector.

Their state-of-the-art machines have earned multiple awards, and the company is considered an employer of choice, with experienced engineers and technicians in each office.

This role focuses on the 'after market' segment, including spare parts, repairs, service, labor, products, and training.

The position reports to the Regional Sales Manager - Africa.

The Technical Key Account Manager will be a key member of the Regional Sales Team, primarily developing accounts by selling after-market technical services and products to current and new customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing close relationships with key mining personnel across SA, Namibia, and Botswana.
  2. Collaborating with two specialized Service Technicians in the region for customer insights.
  3. Traveling approximately 80 days per year, averaging three customer visits per week.
  4. Using market analysis and sales trends to target specific markets and understand customer needs for technical solutions.
  5. Utilizing systems like Salesforce, CRM, and Excel for sales planning and data analysis.
  6. Meeting sales targets set by the Regional Sales Manager and collaborating with support teams.
  7. Maintaining excellent relationships with customers and internal teams.
  8. Demonstrating professionalism and participating in company initiatives like lean philosophy, strategic planning, and ISO quality systems.

Requirements: Electrical, Mechanical, or Millwright qualification or similar, with 3-5 years of experience in a technical role within Mining or Manufacturing.

Experience in Account Management or Sales with proven KPI achievements.

Excellent communication, negotiation skills, and ability to build trust with customers.

Proactive, extroverted, meticulous, autonomous, and goal-oriented.

Computer literacy, good time management, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to travel using a company car.
