Job summary

HENSOLDT South Africa seeks a Technical Data Analyst to turn operational and planning data into predictive models and automated solutions that enhance decision-making and resource use across development and production lifecycles.

The role focuses on building dashboards, workflow automation and AI-enabled tools to replace manual processes and support stock, demand and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in data analytics, modelling or automation.
• Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
• Experience developing dashboards or automated decision-support tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyse data to develop analytical and predictive models for stock, demand and capacity planning.
• Design and integrate automated workflows across planning processes to improve data integrity.
• Develop AI-enabled models and lightweight applications to accelerate digitalisation.

About The Role

The Technical Data Analyst transforms operational, engineering and planning data into integrated, automated and predictive solutions that improve decision-making, resource utilisation and operational performance across the product-development and production lifecycle. The role develops analytical models, automated workflows, dashboards and lightweight digital applications using data, programming and approved AI-enabled tools to replace manual processes and strengthen stock, demand and capacity planning

Qualification and experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in data analytics, modelling, workflow automation or the development of data-driven solutions.
• Practical experience in statistical analysis, predictive modelling, forecasting and the integration and automation of data from multiple sources.
• Experience developing dashboards, prototypes, lightweight applications or automated decision-support tools.
• Exposure to AI-enabled development and analytics tools.
• Experience within a high-technology engineering, manufacturing or product-development environment will be advantageous.
• Exposure to production and systems-integration lifecycles will be advantageous.
• Working knowledge of SAP R/3 and SAP data import and export interfaces will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities

Data Analytics Modelling and Predictive Planning

Analyse operational, engineering and planning data to develop analytical and predictive models for stock optimisation, demand forecasting, capacity planning and resource allocation, resulting in improved planning accuracy, proactive decision-making and effective resource utilisation.

Workflow Automation and Systems Integration

Design and integrate automated workflows across stock, demand, capacity and operational planning processes to replace fragmented and manual activities, resulting in reliable data flows, improved efficiency and stronger data integrity.

AI Enabled Solution Development and Prototyping

Develop, test and deploy analytical models, automation logic and lightweight internal applications using approved AI platforms, programming tools and development environments to accelerate digitalisation, resulting in scalable alternatives to spreadsheet-based and manual processes.

Operational Data Optimisation and Decision Support

Partner with Engineering, Product Development, Production and operational stakeholders to translate data gaps, planning constraints and business requirements into structured analytical solutions, resulting in dashboards and decision-support tools that enable timely, evidence-based decisions.

Data Governance and Solution Performance

Maintain the accuracy, integrity, traceability and reliability of data, models and automated solutions through validation controls, performance monitoring and continuous refinement to meet evolving operational requirements, resulting in dependable and fit-for-purpose analytical solutions.
