The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, finished products, and services for various newbuild turnkey projects, ensuring delivery, quality, and specifications are met.

Responsibilities:

1. Source and negotiate prices for materials listed on BOM or drawings, ensuring the best price without compromising quality, on time, and according to standards.
2. Process AX orders with suppliers meeting set criteria to ensure timely delivery.
3. Engage suppliers to expedite deliveries and provide feedback to project managers regarding order status.
4. Meet with supplier representatives to discuss quotations, new products, and price trends.
5. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and conduct market research to identify new suppliers.
6. Promote cost-saving opportunities and review price increases.
7. Issue tenders, conduct adjudications, and respond to suppliers.
8. Understand Forex requirements and ensure supplier BBBEE compliance.
9. Adhere to health and safety standards, Sarbanes Oxley, and AX controls.

Qualifications:

• Supply Chain Management / Purchasing Diploma or equivalent.
• Qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in engineering or project environments.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and material lists.
• Proficient in ERP systems and familiar with AX system.
• Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Results-oriented with strong planning and attention to detail.
