Job summary

The City of Ekurhuleni invites applications for the Technical Assistant: Operations Systems in the Water & Sanitation Department. The role focuses on supporting operational processes across reservoirs, towers and pump stations.

You will assist in engineering activities, maintain departmental technical systems, ensure delivery within SOPs and service targets, and uphold professional interactions with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering required.
• Driver's License required.
• Computer literacy required.
• 3 years' relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that operational processes are executed.
• Assist with the implementation of engineering activities for the department in particular reservoirs, towers and pumpstations.
• Assist in the maintenance of departmental technical systems and technology for reservoirs, towers and pumpstations.
• Take accountability for delivery of contracted work output within agreed parameters of SOPs, quality standards and service targets.
• Identify and resolve problems timeously, apply discretion in line with provided guidelines and escalate unresolved problems.
• Ensure financial administration delivery process comply with control and governance standards and report on any deviations.
• Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through provision of effective service delivery.
• Maintain professional interaction and ethical dealings with stakeholders at all times.
