Our large Financial Services client is seeking an experienced Technical Application Specialist to support their Governance, Risk and Assurance systems.

This role is critical in aligning business, information, and technology strategies, providing technical support, system configuration, and risk management while driving enhancements in solution architecture throughout the application lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in a technical application support role.
• Proven expertise in Governance, Risk and Assurance applications.
• Experience in software development, maintenance, and system optimisation.
• Strong understanding of Risk management solutions.
• Experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and business process optimisation.
• Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Support & Configuration Management
• Ensure system availability, configuration, upgrades, and general support.
• Optimise capacity management and system performance to ensure long-term stability.
• Lead enhancements through the installation of new features and configuration of solution architecture.
• Provide technical input and guidance to resolve high-complexity issues across applications.
• Business Analysis & Change Management
• Conduct business process reviews, needs analysis, and solution feasibility assessments.
• Consult with business owners and stakeholders to define problems and gather business requirements.
• Manage change requirements, functional specifications, and acceptance testing.
• Investigate issues by interacting with users, developers, and stakeholders, proposing innovative solutions.
• Identify, register, and manage technical risks related to Diligent solution support.
• Provide reporting and recommendations on solution performance and system availability.
• Ensure all implementations align with best practices and compliance frameworks.
• Develop training manuals and knowledge transfer documentation for system users.
• Conduct training sessions to support new implementations and ensure knowledge retention within the client.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Diligent application

• Develop, test, and deploy new features as needed

• Ensure that the Diligent application is functioning properly and is up to date with the latest security patches

• Provide support to end-users

• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to maintain and update hardware and software systems

• Conduct system analysis of application software to identify and propose solutions for problems

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance application features, functionality, and usability

• Gather and document end-user requirements to create, prototype and test solutions

• Conduct user testing and implement feedback into the development process
