About The Unit

Yara Animal Nutrition's operations in South Africa include a raw materials processing plant as well as sales distribution across the country, selling mineral feed supplements to feed producers and farmers across Southern Africa and selected international markets. Globally, Yara was founded in 1905 to address the emerging famine in Europe, and now has a worldwide presence with about 17,000 employees and operations in over 60 countries.

Responsibilities

The Technical Advisor's key deliverables will be the sales and marketing of Yara Animal Nutrition’s products. The advisor will primarily cover the Limpopo area.

1. Maintain and develop the local customer base to ensure Yara's position as the preferred supplier of feed phosphates, feed-grade urea, and related animal nutrition products.
2. Visit existing and new clients to secure long-term partnerships benefiting both the company and customers.
3. Build relationships and promote Yara products through customer visits (farmers, feedlots, co-op branches, head office, mixing plants, etc.).
4. Participate in and build relationships at agricultural shows, farmer’s days, and auctions.
5. Monitor market conditions continuously and develop strategies to meet sales volume, margin, and expense targets.
6. Assist customers with technical information and recommendations in collaboration with nutritionists.
7. Check customer orders, prepare sales quotations, and follow up on the order process.
8. Handle customer queries and claims efficiently and effectively.
9. Develop and monitor the annual, monthly sales, and expense budgets for the area, ensuring adherence to these budgets.

Profile

• Tertiary qualification in Agriculture preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years sales experience in a related industry.
• Background in animal nutrition, feed nutrition, feed milling, or farming.
• Bi-lingual (English and Afrikaans) preferred.
• Residence within Limpopo province is a condition of employment for this role.
