Job Description

To assist with a stable and secure production database environment that aligns with predefined standards and is recoverable in case of hardware failure or disaster situations.

Work under the technical expertise and guidance of Database Administrators within the team.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
  1. Configuration Management: Compile and maintain the integrity of a Configuration Management Data Base in alignment with BCX's standards and using the BCX prescribed systems.
  2. ITSM System Utilization: Use the BCX ITSM system for request, incident, and problem handling, implementing preventative actions as needed.
  3. Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor database performance, analyze trends, tune for optimal performance, and build a known error database (KEDB) for problem handling (R&D).
  4. Support Network: Build and maintain support structures such as vendors, employees, and user groups for consultation purposes.
  5. Version Management: Stay updated with the latest release versions, ensure approval through UAT and QA processes, design and execute release plans, maintain the DSL, and report license issues.
  6. Resource Monitoring: Monitor space utilization, perform trend analysis, set alerts, and escalate issues; monitor memory and CPU usage.
  7. Monitoring Methodology: Contribute to monitoring processes, utilize appropriate tools, and report on system availability or uptime.
  8. Backup Strategy: Identify and implement effective backup tools and strategies to ensure service continuity; monitor backups regularly.
  9. Disaster Recovery: Validate DR plans considering replication, snapshots, or remote copies as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications
