Tech I - Lecture Venues (Grade 09)
Information and Technology Services Department
The Information and Technology Services Department invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
Main Objectives
Ensuring that all lecture venue equipment is working and replaced as and when necessary. To respond to users’ needs and to provision technical support to the lecture venues to ensure continuity and support the Teaching and Learning project of the University, and to ensure that the Venues are fit for purpose on a daily basis.
The Requirements
Grade 12 plus approximately 2 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -
- 2 years previous experience working with setting up and debugging of audio visual and computer equipment
- The ability to diagnose equipment faults (both computer and audio-visual equipment) – i.e. making first-line diagnosis and be able to fix problems– for example ensuring that the data projector is working properly.
- Driver’s license
- Experience working in a Teaching and Learning environment will be an advantage
- Knowledge of the Rhodes campus will be an advantage
- Industry AV and hardware Certification will be considered an advantage

Remuneration Per Annum (Grade 09)
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R307,301.00
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R421,604.00

This post is advertised as a permanent post, but the University may opt to appoint on a fixed-term contract of not less than three years.
