Job summary

Capitec is seeking a senior leader to embed, optimise and maintain the accuracy of the Credit Pricing or Provisioning framework and related models. You will head a team responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining models across credit pricing and provisioning, adhering to Capitec standards and regulatory frameworks.

The role requires an honours or masters in mathematics or statistics with extensive experience in financial modelling and leadership.

Qualifications

• Honours/Masters in Mathematics or Statistics with 6+ years/7+ years analytical experience in financial modelling.
• Experience with credit pricing or provisioning is required (3+ years).
• Previous leadership experience and regular exposure to Executive Committee members are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedding, optimisation and maintenance of the credit pricing or provisioning framework and related models.
• Lead the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of existing and new models in line with standards and frameworks.
• Provide guidance on forecasting, budgeting and regulatory analytics (Basel, IFRS 9) for credit pricing or provisioning.

• Credit pricing and capital requirement calculations
• Modelling and forecasting of bad debt (Provisioning)

Experience

Minimum:

• Honours Degree with 7+ years’ experience in an analytical capacity, working in a dynamic, mathematically complex environment – focusing on financial modelling.
  • Of which at least 3 years in working with credit pricing or provisioning.
• OR Masters Degree with 6+ years’ experience in an analytical capacity, working in a dynamic, mathematically complex environment – focusing on financial modelling.
  • Of which at least 3 years in working with credit pricing or provisioning.
• Previous leadership experience
• Regular exposure to members of the Executive Committee.
