Key Purpose

To effectively lead, manage, and coach a team of motor claims investigators, ensuring claims are validated correctly within cover and objectives are met within agreed Service Level Agreements.

Areas of Responsibility

  1. Manage all client service metrics, service levels, and standard operating procedures of the team and related functions.
  2. Perform full line management within the scope of the role.
  3. Analyze trends and implement improvements to increase efficiencies.
  4. Handle escalated queries from stakeholders.
  5. Implement strategic initiatives to improve claims costs and loss ratios.
  6. Report to stakeholders on business area performance.
  7. Cultivate the Discovery culture within the team.
  8. Lead and develop the team to foster growth and career development across all levels.
  9. Present claims at claims forums.
  10. Make recommendations on claims settlements.

Education and Experience

  1. Matric (Essential)
  2. At least 5 years’ experience in claims investigations and validations (Essential)
  3. At least 2 years’ experience leading a team of investigators (Essential)
  4. Technical knowledge of short-term insurance claims investigations and validations (Essential)
  5. Related tertiary qualification (e.g., Forensics/Operational Management) is advantageous
