Job summary

Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is seeking a supervising role to manage packing plant operations and manpower planning in the cement manufacturing context. The role focuses on achieving a 350 pallets per shift production target, maintaining safety and housekeeping standards, and coordinating department staff to ensure efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has a Senior Certificate and 2–3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in cement, with strong leadership and the ability to meet strict

Qualifications

• Senior Certificate.
• 2–3 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in the cement industry.
• Experience in fabricating, fitting, and assembling structural components of mechanical systems, and maintenance/repair of machinery is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise manpower-related planning and ensure 350 pallets per shift target.
• Supervise Packing Plant operations and oversee Bulk Bag operations.
• Generate hourly and shift reports; submit reports after every shift.
• Maintain spotless housekeeping and discipline in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2.
• Assist with breakdowns and maintenance; ensure zero lost production time.

Job description

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities

Health & Safety:

• Compliance with all EH&S guidelines and procedures.

Key Tasks:

• Supervise manpower-related planning.
• Production output target:350 pallets per shift.
• Supervise Packing Plant operations.
• Generate hourly and shift reports.
• Ensure spotless housekeeping and cleaning in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2 at the end of each shift.
• Submit reports after every shift.
• Oversee Bulk Bag operations.
• Maintain discipline in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2.
• Ensure zero lost production time.
• Minimise spillages and perform RCA where required.
• Supervise department staff.
• Coordinate and allocate duties to department staff to ensure effective operations.
• Ensure the department meets production targets.
• Conduct routine checks of all areas to ensure they are neat and orderly.
• Assist with breakdowns and maintenance.

Other

• Perform any other related duties in the interest of CEMZA as instructed.
• Work according to Integrated Environmental and Quality Management System requirements.
• Work according to instructions and procedures pertaining to the assigned operational function.
• Abide by all applicable legal requirements, company policies, and practices.

• Meet or exceed all relevant KPIs and Plant objectives.
• Achieve the required production output of 350 pallets per shift.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and discipline.
• Minimise production downtime and spillages.

Qualification & Experience

• Senior Certificate.
• Minimum2–3 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in the cement industry.
• Experience in fabricating, fitting, and assembling structural components of mechanical systems, as well as maintaining and repairing machinery, will be an advantage.
