Job Title: Warehouse Teamleader

Location: Midrand, South Africa

Job Purpose

Coordinate activities of the Internal logistics team to ensure safe and efficient execution of the daily logistics working plan. Monitor employees and organize workflows to ensure smooth and efficient internal logistics processes. Optimize daily activities while minimizing costs, with the goal of delivering high-quality products profitably.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice transport & logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operational performance. Drive fundamental changes to align team behavior with customer needs.
  • Implement a performance-driven culture through Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Kaizen principles.
  • Provide direction to Internal Logistics teams including Goods Inbound, Goods Outbound, and Deliveries, ensuring focus on health & safety, housekeeping, stock management, allergen control, and labelling.
  • Collaborate with External Logistics team to ensure smooth T&D operations.
  • Lead team results through empowerment and operational metrics.
  • Ensure accurate and prompt SAP data entry and maintenance of spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate coverage issues and overtime when necessary.
  • Promote safety, quality awareness, and customer orientation.
  • Assist and train team members, coordinate cross-training activities.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance team for repairs, work orders, and equipment releases.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems.
  • Improve stock accuracy aiming for 98% accuracy, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support Project Engineer with tasks related to new projects.
  • Make operational decisions as appropriate and record deviations to operational issues.

Qualifications & Experience
  • B Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Warehouse/Operations experience.
  • Leadership experience in Warehousing, Transport, and Distribution.
  • Knowledge of SAP and external warehouse management.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, FSSC 22000, Food Defense, Food Safety).
  • Knowledge of International Standards (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001).
  • Relevant experience can substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Well-organized, able to work under pressure, good time management, capable of working independently and in teams.
