An established industry player is seeking a skilled IT Systems Developer to enhance application software and engage with stakeholders. This role involves prioritizing development tasks, maintaining a software roadmap, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system development, with experience in the financial insurance sector being a plus. Coordinate and prioritize IT Systems Development tasks through effective resource deployment and workload allocation to ensure that Business IT Systems requirements are sufficiently developed and adhered to.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Software Development
Contribute to the development of existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Assist in developing new applications to meet customer requirements.
Application Software Roadmap
Maintain and contribute to the application software development roadmap, ensuring development work aligns with business priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with relevant business and IT stakeholders. Understand their needs and concerns, and facilitate meetings and materials to promote understanding and commitment.
Plan and deliver small projects or workstreams using appropriate project management methodologies to ensure outcomes are achieved.
Leadership and Direction
Communicate the local action plan to team members, aligning their tasks with broader business and organizational strategies. Motivate the team to achieve local goals.
Performance Management
Respond to personal objectives, utilize performance management systems, monitor team performance, allocate work, review completion, and take corrective actions as needed. Contribute to performance appraisals.
Organizational Capability Building
Identify team members' development needs using the organization's framework. Plan and implement development actions, including providing training or coaching to enhance performance and potential.
Data Collection & Analysis
Collect and analyze data using established tools and methods independently to measure improvements.
Operational Compliance
Maintain knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Ensure personal and team compliance, report non-compliance issues, and escalate as appropriate.
Applications Software Maintenance
Monitor, identify, and correct software defects to ensure applications function properly.
Information Security
Support the implementation of security measures such as firewalls and encryption, monitoring performance, and reporting issues to security experts.
Requirements :
Recognized IT degree or diploma (advantageous).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
3-6 years of relevant System Development experience using appropriate programming languages or technologies (Essential).
Previous experience in the Financial Insurance industry (Advantageous).
MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of supervising and directing people and resources to achieve specific results within limited timeframes (Essential).
