Job summary

ADvTECH’s Schools Division seeks qualified Foundation Phase educators to deliver foundational education focusing on reading, literacy and numeracy. You will maintain academic delivery, assess student progress, and contribute to a positive, collaborative learning community.

Candidates must hold an undergrad in ECD or B.Ed (Foundation Phase) with a PGCE if applicable, SACE certification, and police clearance. 2–5 years’ teaching experience and digital literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in ECD/Foundation Phase with relevant practicum.
• PGCE required if degree aligns with psychology or foundation phase.
• SACE certification and police clearance are mandatory.
• 2–5 years teaching experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver foundational education focusing on reading, literacy and numeracy.
• Maintain academic delivery and assessment standards.
• Manage student behaviour and safety in school environment.
• Act as school brand ambassador and represent the institution professionally.
• Handle administrative tasks related to curriculum delivery.
• Ensure health and safety compliance across classrooms.

Duties

Foundation phase educators will create a learning experience to stimulate and grow individual talents and equip children with the requisite basic education skills in the areas of reading, literacy and numeracy amongst others. They will need :-

• to deliver future focused education in which students are motivated, inspired and challenged;
• to demonstrate strength of character, integrity and professionalism, at all times
• to develop and maintain constructive and ongoing partnerships with colleagues, parents, guardians and members of the community
• to communicate and collaborate with all members of the learning community in a positive, respectful and open-minded way

Qualifications & Experience

• an undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) in ECD or B. Education (Foundation Phase)
• A PGCE would be necessary if the degree is deemed suitable viz Psychology
• SACE certification and a police clearance are requirements
• 2-5 years Teaching Experience
• Computer and digital literacy
• First Aid
