Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced teacher to join our team as anAfrikaans FAL (FET) and Life Orientation (Gr 8 – 10)educator.

Key Responsibilities

Educators are expected to plan, organise, and implement effective instructional programs that inspire and support students in reaching their academic potential while preparing them for life beyond school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver future-focused education that motivates, inspires, and challenges students.
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and strong moral character at all times.
  • Develop and maintain constructive, ongoing partnerships with colleagues, parents/guardians, and the broader community.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) and a PGCE or B.Ed. (FET) with specialisation in Afrikaans and Life Orientation.
  • Valid SACE registration and a current police clearance
  • 3–6 years of teaching experience in the FET Phase
  • 3–6 years of specialist subject experience in Afrikaans and Life Orientation
  • Competency in digital tools and computer literacy
  • A lifelong learner who reflects on and improves their teaching practice, staying informed on global educational trends
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a professional presentation
  • High emotional intelligence and a proven ability to manage professional relationships with maturity
  • Strong time management and reliability
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
