Job summary

Shift Pursuit in Cape Town, South Africa, seeks an experienced Tax Portfolio Manager to own a portfolio of client tax compliance, working closely with a dedicated tax team.

You will prepare returns for individuals, companies and trusts, handle SARS queries, and ensure timely submissions while building strong client relationships. This role requires meticulous attention and proactive client service.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or similar qualification – essential.
• Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling – essential.
• Experience with tax compliance for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Previous articles experience – preferred.
• Tax Practitioner registration – preferred.
• GreatSoft experience – advantageous.
• Experience with Greatsoft, SARS eFiling and/or BSharp will be advantageous.

Are you an experienced tax professional looking to take ownership of a portfolio and work alongside a strong tax team? Our client is looking for a Tax Portfolio Manager to manage the tax compliance requirements of a portfolio of clients while working closely with the wider tax team.

Key Performance Areas:

• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Manage SARS queries, verifications and related correspondence
• Ensure all tax submissions and compliance matters are kept up to date
• Manage client matters via SARS eFiling
• Manage and maintain a portfolio of tax clients
• Assist with general tax compliance matters

Requirements:

• Previous articles experience – preferred

• Experience with tax compliance for individuals, companies and trusts
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and take ownership of a portfolio
• Experience working with Greatsoft, SARS eFiling and/or BSharp will be advantageous
