Join Our Dynamic Africa Tax Team as a Tax Manager!

Are you ready to take your tax expertise to the next level? We’re looking for a passionate and drivenTax Managerto play a pivotal role in our Africa tax team. Reporting directly to the Africa Tax Director, you’ll be at the forefront of managing tax affairs across a diverse and vibrant region—including Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Ghana. This is your chance to lead impactful zone-wide tax projects, mentor a talented team, and shape the future of tax strategy in some of Africa’s most exciting markets.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Tax Operations:Oversee monthly tax reporting, annual budgeting, and compliance for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Drive Tax Optimization:Identify and implement opportunities to enhance tax positions, and provide expert advice on transactions and projects.
• Influence Policy:Engage with tax authorities and industry groups to help shape tax legislation and policy, minimizing risk and maximizing mutual benefit.
• Manage Audits & Disputes:Take charge of tax audits, resolve disputes, and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Champion Strategic Projects:Spearhead zone-wide initiatives in tax optimization, digitalization, transfer pricing, risk management, and training.
• Mentor & Develop Talent:Guide and support two tax managers and several in-country managers, fostering growth and excellence within the team.
• Collaborate Across Functions:Work closely with our shared service center (NOCC) to ensure seamless tax reporting and compliance.
• Leverage Technology:Develop data analytics and explore modern technologies to enhance tax processes.
• Be a Business Partner:Deliver actionable tax insights that drive business strategy, create value, and accelerate growth.

What We’re Looking For

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field, plus a professional tax qualification.
• Experience:10+ years in tax, ideally within a multinational company or top-tier tax firm.
• Expertise:Deep knowledge of tax laws, international tax principles, and strong analytical, mathematical, and accounting skills.
• Communication:Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Leadership:Proven ability to manage teams, projects, and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Integrity:High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
• Flexibility:Willingness to travel across Africa and internationally as needed.

Advantageous:

• Proficiency inExcel, PowerPoint, Word, and experience with tax software (SAP, Syspro, or similar).
